OPTIMUS AWARDED $6M CD-ROM CONTRACT BY U.S. GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - OPTIMUS Corporation, a leader in CD-ROM authoring tools and services, has been awarded a five year contract worth over $6 million by the U.S. Government Printing Office. The award is to produce FED LOG, a CD-ROM based parts and logistics catalog. FED LOG is one of the largest CD-ROM projects in the world with over 95,000 CDs produced monthly and distributed worldwide.

Each month, OPTIMUS receives over 7 Gigabytes of data from the Defense Logistics Supply Center (DLSC) in Battle Creek, Michigan. This data is indexed and compressed to create the FED LOG product. OPTIMUS has developed specialized search, retrieval and viewing software, which is distributed along with the data on CD-ROM.

Erik Ringkjob, President and CEO of OPTIMUS Corporation commented, "OPTIMUS is honored and gratified at being chosen to provide this very unique CD-ROM product to our military. I am sure that our demonstrated ability to deliver consistent quality and cost effective service to the Defense Logistics Supply Center was an important factor in their decision to award OPTIMUS the contract."
